Here's a cute and clever puzzle game. Pursuit of the hat has you playing a small sock puppet character that keeps having his hat teleporting to different areas of the map of you have to solve puzzles in order for you to get him back to his beloved purple hat. Now the difference with this game is that you have to rip off your own limbs in order to complete the puzzles. No need to worry no gore there just little teddy limbs. So those who are close to their stuffed friends may want to stay away from this game. The game involves you ripping of your arms and legs in order to push down buttons, weigh down lift etc.
This cute guy can eventually end up just being a head allowing you to sneak into little gaps to reach your lovely hat. At the start of each level however your limbs re-appear and your free to start ripping some stitching again. The game is very fun to play and will have you thinking about how to pass certain levels. There are cute little animations involved such as scrambling up ridges and how to run without legs or arms, hopping happily along. You mainly find yourself blocked by many candy cane poles and have to press certain buttons in order for you to reach your hat. These buttons, as mentioned above, need to be kept down in order for the candy canes to stay down.
This is the main reason why this game make you think. You will need to find the perfect areas to put your discarded limbs and will spend much time clicking the R button in order to repeat the level. The second of the obstacles you will be commonly faced with are the "scales", two large wooden lifts that react to the amount of weight the have on them. For example all four of your limbs equal your body's weight. This requires you to put a bit more thinking into your adventure. Think hard and you'll soon find yourself thinking "Why didn't I just do that in the first place?". This game captures the best and most fun parts of a puzzle game and I can see why it was rated so high. You'll find yourself longing to reach that cave where the little hat is stored even if it takes 300 retries.
The game involves many mechanics which your character can interact with. The most fun of which I find to be the cannon. You can't help but laugh as your little puppet character is launched through the air towards his goal. The game has great artistic features and I find it appealing to watch and see how the designer portrays your little guy's journey. This puzzle game kept me busy for a while and not once did I consider giving up as I knew there just had to be a way I could get my limb to fall this way or at the right angle. I eventually passed on through feeling good with myself for that never give up attitude and hopefully you can feel the same. Good luck on playing this game and try not to tare too much of your hair out as you ponder what to do next.
